Major Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
